In this role, you'll apply advanced physics expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through rigorous analysis, problem solving, and numerical benchmarking in statistical physics, quantum information, and condensed matter theory. You'll evaluate complex theoretical problems, develop and critique solutions, perform advanced numerical work, and address technical challenges involving dualities, disorder, domain-wall free energy, and topological quantum phenomena. This opportunity is suited for PhD-level physicists and researchers with direct research experience in the specified theoretical and computational areas.

Physics Expert (Statistical Physics / Quantum Information / Condensed Matter)

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex statistical physics phenomena involving replicated random-bond Ising/Ashkin-Teller models, toric-code thresholds, and the Nishimori line.
• Develop and critique solutions involving Kramers-Wannier duality, quenched disorder averaging, square-lattice self-duality, and domain-wall free energy.
• Perform and interpret advanced numerical simulations, particularly involving the 4-state Potts model.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges involving noncontractible loop defects and related topological features.
• Participate as a Solver, Auditor, or Adjudicator on project assignments based on relevant physics expertise and subfield strengths.

Qualifications

• Advanced academic background, preferably a PhD or equivalent research experience, in physics with specialization in statistical physics, quantum information, or condensed matter theory.
• Direct hands-on experience applying Kramers-Wannier duality, quenched disorder averaging, and square-lattice self-duality in research or project settings.
• Demonstrated proficiency with numerical simulations involving the 4-state Potts model and analysis of domain-wall free energy.
• Familiarity with topological quantum codes, particularly the toric code and its threshold phenomena.
