About this role

You will support the evaluation and improvement of AI systems designed to automate payment posting, electronic remittance processing, and cash reconciliation workflows within healthcare revenue cycle operations. The role combines payment reconciliation leadership with AI quality evaluation, focusing on ERA/835 processing, EOB interpretation, lockbox reconciliation, unapplied cash, and payment accuracy. You will review AI-generated posting recommendations and reconciliation outputs, identify discrepancies, and provide structured feedback to improve cash posting accuracy and accelerate revenue cycle close.

Responsibilities

Payment posting leadership: Oversee cash posting and payment reconciliation workflows, including ERA/835 processing, manual EOB posting, and lockbox reconciliation.
AI output evaluation: Review AI-generated payment posting outputs, ERA matching recommendations, and reconciliation reports for accuracy and completeness.
Payment processing: Manage electronic and manual payment posting across multiple payers and payment types.
Reconciliation: Match posted payments against bank deposits, payer remittances, and lockbox reports to ensure accuracy.
Error resolution: Identify and resolve posting errors, misapplied payments, reconciliation variances, and unapplied cash.
KPI monitoring: Track posting accuracy, days to post, unapplied cash balances, reconciliation variance, and related performance metrics.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work with billing, A/R, finance, and revenue cycle teams to resolve payment discrepancies and support timely cash close.
Compliance: Ensure cash-handling workflows follow HIPAA requirements, internal controls, and audit standards.
AI training support: Annotate AI-generated outputs and provide structured expert feedback for healthcare AI training datasets.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of experience in cash posting, payment reconciliation, payment operations, or healthcare revenue cycle management.
At least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
Deep knowledge of ERA/835 electronic remittance processing, EOB interpretation, and lockbox reconciliation.
Strong understanding of payer payment methodologies, remittance adjustments, and reason codes.
Experience managing high-volume payment posting workflows across multiple payer types.
Proficiency with billing and payment posting platforms such as Epic, Athenahealth, or equivalent systems.
Strong knowledge of reconciliation, unapplied cash management, and payment discrepancy resolution.
Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to identify payment posting errors and inaccuracies in AI-generated outputs.
Must be based in the United States.
