About this role

The Payroll and Accounts Payable Analyst will own accurate and timely employee payroll and vendor-payment operations in a fully remote environment. The role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, accounts payable, tax and deduction compliance, reconciliations, month-end support, vendor administration, expense programs, and internal controls. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who can manage recurring deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and help automate and scale payroll and A/P workflows as the company grows.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end payroll processing including new hires, terminations, bonuses, commissions, status changes, and off-cycle payments.
Manage accounts payable including invoice intake, GL coding, approval routing, three-way matching, vendor payments, W-9s, and 1099 preparation.
Reconcile payroll and A/P subledgers to the general ledger, prepare journal entries and accruals, and support month-end close and audits.
Administer employee expenses and corporate cards, monitor A/P aging, strengthen internal controls, and identify opportunities to automate payroll and finance workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 2–4 years of hands-on payroll and/or accounts payable experience.
Working knowledge of payroll taxes, wage-and-hour compliance, GL coding, accrual accounting, and standard A/P processes.
Hands-on experience with payroll platforms, ERP/accounting systems, Google Sheets, and Excel.
Strong accuracy, confidentiality, attention to deadlines, communication skills, and ability to work independently in a remote startup environment.
