In this role, you'll apply advanced aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through rigorous engineering analysis, simulation, and validation. You'll translate physical requirements into reproducible computational models, execute CFD workflows programmatically, analyze aerodynamic results, and review AI-generated engineering solutions for physical and numerical validity. This opportunity is suited for aerospace and mechanical engineering professionals with strong fluid mechanics knowledge, practical Python skills, and hands-on experience with programmatic or command-line engineering tools.

Aerodynamics Expert

Responsibilities

• Solve and validate aerodynamic and fluid-dynamics problems using reproducible computational workflows.
• Translate physical requirements into computational models, geometries, domains, meshes, boundary conditions, and solver-ready cases.
• Run CFD and aerodynamic-analysis workflows using command-line-accessible tools.
• Use Python to automate preprocessing, simulation execution, parameter sweeps, postprocessing, and validation.
• Analyze pressure, velocity, forces, moments, lift, drag, pressure loss, and other aerodynamic outputs.
• Diagnose issues involving mesh quality, convergence, numerical stability, turbulence modeling, and boundary conditions.
• Perform mesh-independence studies, sanity checks, and comparisons against analytical, experimental, or reference results.
• Review AI-generated engineering solutions for incorrect assumptions, invalid configurations, and physically unrealistic outputs.
• Develop clear, reproducible reference solutions and verification criteria.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with an aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, or thermofluids specialization; alternatively, BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 1–2 years of aero-specific professional or research experience.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and applied aerodynamics.
• Experience formulating and executing CFD or aerodynamic analyses.
• Practical proficiency with Python.
• Experience with at least one CLI-accessible, scriptable, configuration-based, or programmatic engineering tool or library.
• Ability to select and justify modeling assumptions, boundary conditions, mesh strategies, and solver settings.
• Ability to diagnose non-convergence, unstable solutions, incorrect results, and physically invalid outputs.
• Ability to communicate technical reasoning and engineering trade-offs clearly.
