About this role

You will design advanced civil engineering evaluation tasks for AI systems operating in large-scale infrastructure, construction, and public works environments. The role focuses on creating realistic engineering scenarios, reference solutions, calculations, and evaluation rubrics that reflect senior-level civil engineering judgment. Projects may follow either the US standards track using ASCE, ACI, AISC, and AASHTO standards or the International standards track using Eurocodes and ISO standards. The work spans structural, transportation, geotechnical, water resources, environmental, and construction engineering contexts.

Responsibilities

Engineering scenario design: Create realistic civil engineering tasks covering infrastructure design cycles, permitting, regulatory review, construction delivery, and public works processes.
Structural engineering: Develop scenarios involving structural design, load analysis, engineering calculations, and applicable building or infrastructure standards.
Transportation engineering: Build tasks involving highways, transportation systems, roadway design, and infrastructure planning.
Water and environmental engineering: Create hydrology, hydraulic modeling, drainage, water resources, and environmental engineering scenarios.
Geotechnical engineering: Develop problems involving soil conditions, site assessment, foundations, earthworks, and geotechnical risk.
Construction management: Design scenarios involving scheduling, stakeholder coordination, regulatory approvals, project delivery, and construction workflows.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a civil engineer, engineering lead, or senior infrastructure professional.
Direct experience owning or contributing significantly to large-scale infrastructure design, permitting, construction delivery, or public works projects.
Strong expertise in one or more areas including structural engineering, transportation engineering, highway engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources, environmental engineering, or construction management.
Strong understanding of civil engineering calculations, structural load analysis, geotechnical site assessment, hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and infrastructure design workflows.
Experience applying major engineering codes and standards such as ASCE, ACI, AISC, AASHTO, Eurocodes, or ISO.
Familiarity with regulatory approvals, environmental review processes such as NEPA or international equivalents, and public agency oversight.
Professional working knowledge of civil engineering design and analysis software.
Ability to develop technically accurate engineering documentation, calculations, scenarios, and evaluation rubrics.
