Software Engineer — Agentic Search Systems

About this role

You will contribute expertise from production search and agentic search systems to help evaluate modern retrieval and search architectures. | The role focuses on how engineers reason about relevance, retrieval quality, system evaluation, infrastructure, and optimization trade-offs. | Candidates should bring practical experience from real systems used by end users. | The initial evaluation is a short conversational interview with no coding or take-home assignment.

Agentic Search Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Discuss real-world experience designing, operating, and improving production search or agentic search systems.
• Explain how relevance, retrieval quality, and system impact were measured and optimized.
• Share technical decisions involving search architecture, agentic workflows, evaluation, and infrastructure scaling.
• Provide detailed examples of trade-offs, failures, and lessons learned from production environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building or owning production search, retrieval, or agentic search systems used by real users.
• Strong understanding of relevance evaluation, retrieval quality, search metrics, and experimentation.
• Experience designing systems related to LLM-powered or agentic search is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of scalable data infrastructure and the technical trade-offs required to operate modern search systems.
