Procurement Expert

About this role

You will help build and validate realistic procurement and vendor-management workflows used to evaluate and train AI systems. The role focuses on simulating how experienced procurement teams review new vendors, assess contract renewals, benchmark pricing and terms, consolidate inputs from finance, legal, security, and IT, and make final approval recommendations. You will also create expert-level rubrics and golden responses that reflect real-world procurement judgment and ensure simulated company environments are realistic and internally consistent.

Procurement Vendor Management Expert

Responsibilities

• Vendor intake review: Evaluate simulated new-vendor requests and assess whether proposed vendors meet business, pricing, risk, and contractual expectations.
• Pricing and terms benchmarking: Compare vendor pricing, commercial terms, and contract conditions against realistic company reference data.
• Cross-functional review: Consolidate feedback from finance, legal, security, IT, and other stakeholders into a clear final procurement recommendation.
• Renewal assessment: Review simulated contract renewals and determine whether renewal, renegotiation, escalation, or rejection is appropriate.
• Rubric development: Create step-level evaluation rubrics that capture how experienced procurement professionals assess vendor requests and renewals.
• Golden response creation: Author high-quality reference answers representing ideal procurement reasoning and decision-making.
• Environment validation: Audit simulated procurement environments for realism, inconsistencies, and unintended contradictions before tasks are released.
• AI evaluation support: Apply real-world procurement expertise to improve the quality and realism of AI training and evaluation datasets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, spend operations, vendor management, contract management, or a closely related function.
• Hands-on experience managing real vendor intake requests, vendor evaluations, contract renewals, and procurement approval workflows.
• Experience working within mature procurement organizations that use formal vendor-review and approval processes.
• Strong understanding of commercial terms, vendor risk, pricing evaluation, contract renewals, stakeholder approvals, and procurement governance.
• Ability to coordinate and interpret feedback across finance, legal, security, IT, and business teams.
• Strong analytical judgment and ability to make well-supported procurement recommendations.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce structured, detailed, rubric-style feedback.
