About this role

You will support the evaluation and improvement of AI systems designed to automate accounts receivable follow-up, payer collections, and claim resolution workflows. The role combines A/R operations leadership with AI quality evaluation, focusing on claim status inquiries, payer correspondence, ageing management, underpayment resolution, and revenue recovery. You will review AI-generated follow-up recommendations and payer communications, identify inaccuracies, and provide structured feedback to help reduce days in A/R and improve collections performance.

Responsibilities

A/R operations leadership: Manage follow-up workflows across commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care payers to ensure timely resolution of outstanding claims.
AI output evaluation: Review AI-generated A/R follow-up recommendations, claim status outputs, and payer correspondence for accuracy and effectiveness.
Claim status management: Handle electronic claim status inquiries using EDI 276/277, payer portals, and phone-based follow-up processes.
A/R prioritisation: Organise follow-up queues by ageing bucket, payer, claim value, and recovery potential.
Payment discrepancy resolution: Identify and resolve underpayments, payer processing errors, claim payment discrepancies, and unresolved balances.
KPI monitoring: Track days in A/R, ageing distribution, collection rates, write-off rates, and related revenue-cycle metrics.
Payer strategy development: Create payer-specific follow-up approaches to accelerate claim resolution and improve recovery.
Compliance: Ensure follow-up processes comply with HIPAA, FDCPA, payer policies, and timely filing requirements.
AI training support: Annotate AI outputs and provide structured expert feedback for healthcare AI training datasets.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of experience in A/R follow-up, payer collections, healthcare billing, or revenue cycle operations.
At least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
Deep knowledge of claim status follow-up workflows and EDI 276/277 transactions.
Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and managed care payer claims processing and payment timelines.
Experience managing high-volume A/R queues across multiple payers, ageing categories, and account values.
Strong knowledge of claim payment discrepancies, payer processing errors, underpayments, and collection workflows.
Proficiency with healthcare billing systems and A/R management platforms.
Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to identify payment discrepancies and inaccuracies in AI-generated A/R content.
Must be based in the United States.
